WHEAT HALWA

                                        

                                 This wheat halwa is a delightful dessert that has all the benefits of whole wheat flour.This is very nutritious and is especially known for the smooth looking texture that would literally melts in your mouth. Patience is important for the perfect outcome of this recipe.

Wheat Halwa

         INGREDIENTS 

          👉 Ghee 2 tbsp
          👉 10 Almonds & cashews
          👉 A cup of Wheat flour 
          👉 3 cups of Water
          👉 A cup of coconut milk
          👉 1 & 1/2 cup of sugar 
          👉 A pinch of Yellow or Orange food colour
          👉 Coconut oil
          👉 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • Add the ghee in a pan,roast the cashews and almonds and keep it aside for garnish.                                                                        

  • In the same pan,roast the wheat flour slightly.

  • Once the wheat flour is roasted,switch off the flame.

  • Take three cups of water and add into the roasted wheat flour and mix.Make the batter without any lumps. [ Measure the water, wheat flour and water with the same cup]

  • strain the batter using a strainer.

  • Now switch on the flame,add a cup of coconut milk extracted from half a coconut.If you don't want to add coconut milk just skip and add one cup of water instead  .

  • In to a tablespoon of water  add a pinch of food color and pour into the wheat flour mixture and stir well.

  • Add the sugar and keep stirring(you could also add jaggery,Instead)

  • Add the cardamom powder after 15 minutes and after 30 minutes the mixture started to thicken now add a spoon of ghee and coconut oil.

  •  Add a spoonful of coconut oil after 50 mins adding coconut oil gives a nice aroma and a better taste to this sweet.

    •  After 60 mins ,you may notice that the mixture won't stick in the pan and that is the consistency we need.

    • Now transfer this into a ghee greased bowl,it took approximately 1 hour to complete.

    • Garnish with the roasted nuts and allow it to cool. 

    • The delicious satisfying wheat halwa is ready...Serve and Enjoy.
